Meet Our Board Members

Anne Copeland

Burnie Brae Board | Chair

Anne dedicated her career to nursing, starting as a registered nurse, midwife and child health nurse, and progressing to leadership roles in public and private hospitals and aged care. She has served on various boards, including as Chair of the Queensland Nursing Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

Since joining Burnie Brae in 2017, Anne has actively contributed to community initiatives. In addition to her professional work, she is a talented artist, teaching watercolour classes and enjoying painting and pottery. On the weekend you’ll often find her as the pillion passenger on her partner’s motorbike.

Belinda Llamas

Burnie Brae Board | Non-Executive Director

Belinda has over 20 years of experience in risk management, work health and safety, human resources and business management. Dedicated to simplifying compliance and enhancing client services, she is recognised by WorkSafe Queensland for her contributions to workplace culture and empowers others with her expertise.

After a challenging journey with her late grandmother, Belinda is dedicated to improving support for older generations. She loves spending time with her young family in the countryside and exploring her passion for arts and crafts.

Bernadette Dutton

Burnie Brae Board | Non-Executive Director

Bernadette is an accomplished Speech Pathologist with over 30 years of experience in private practice, public health and universities in the UK and Australia. She founded and directed a successful speech pathology business, leading a team of over 40 professionals, using her strong leadership skills to drive growth and improve service delivery.

Committed to evidence-based, client-centered support, Bernadette was awarded the ‘Speech Pathologist of the Year’ at the Australian Allied Health Awards in 2019. She is also a member of Speech Pathology Australia and the International Coaching Federation.

Carolyn Robinson

Burnie Brae Board | Non-Executive Director

Carolyn’s passion for nursing has significantly impacted the field and community. With over 50 years of experience as a registered nurse in acute care, community health, and academia, her contributions have earned her a Vice Chancellor’s Award from QUT and recognition as a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia.

Carolyn is dedicated to giving back to her community through volunteer work with local schools, churches and organisations. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and grandchildren, who keep her informed about the latest trends.

Sharon Sweeney

Burnie Brae Board | Non-Executive Director

Sharon, Adjunct Associate Professor, is a health service leader with over 30 years of experience. She holds a Master of Population Health, a Master of Health Services Management, and is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, a Certified Health Executive, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sharon has led consortiums to improve community aged care services, initiated programs to reduce social isolation and support those with chronic conditions, and developed tools to help people navigate health and aged care services.

Steven O'Donoghue

Burnie Brae Board | Non-Executive Director

Steven is an Executive Leader with over 20 years in the Financial Services Industry, specialising in financial planning, strategy and risk management. He holds an MBA, a Master of Applied Finance, is a Certified Financial Planner and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also co-owns Stepping Out Podiatry.

Driven by a commitment to community service, Steven is passionate about ensuring everyone has access to essential resources and support. Outside of work, Steven enjoys time with his family, watching AFL, playing tennis, golf and fishing.
