Eligibility for Project Pantry
Project Pantry is available to community members who hold a Disability Pension, Age Pension, Veteran Pension and/or Centrelink Health. If you’re unsure about your eligibility or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What’s Included?
Our grocery parcels typically include non-perishable items such as pasta, canned goods, long-life milk, tea, sauces, and some personal hygiene products (subject to availability). Please note, due to limited storage capacity, cold, frozen and fresh items may not be included or could be unavailable
Collection Days
Grocery parcels are available for collection between 9am and 12pm on the following dates:
Note: one parcel per person, per month. Collections are available at the Burnie Brae Pantry Shed, 60 Kuran St, Chermside. Please contact us to confirm your collection in advance.
Making Payment
Each grocery parcel costs $5. Payments can be made in person using cash or card at Burnie Brae Reception (60 Kuran St, Chermside) or credit card over the phone - call 3624 2110 (office hours: weekdays 8am - 4pm).
Service Updates 2025
To better serve our community, we are making updates to Project Pantry, including changes to eligibility and offerings. As a result, we will be delaying the reopening of Project Pantry to ensure these improvements are in place.
Services will now resume Thursday 6 March 2025.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay, but we are committed to providing a better service for everyone. If you need urgent food assistance before we reopen, here are some resources that can help:
