Empowering Men’s Health

Exercise Physio Banner

Exercise plays a crucial role in keeping Aussie blokes healthier, happier and living longer. Men’s Health Week promotes healthy living for men, encouraging them to schedule checkups and make healthier lifestyle choices.

Schedule a Health Check-up

Book regular check-ups with healthcare providers. Routine screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol and prostate exams can detect potential health concerns early, enabling timely intervention.

Engage in Physical Activities

Regular physical activity is key to maintaining good health. Whether it’s going for a walk, hitting the gym or playing sports, find activities you enjoy and make them a part of your routine.

Speak to the Exercise Professionals

If you’re unsure where to start, consult an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) at Healthy Connections. They specialise in designing exercise programs for all populations and can provide tailored recommendations to individual needs and goals.

Overcome Challenges

Don’t let poor health or injury deter you from exercise. Physical activity can often help manage health conditions, but it’s essential to consult an AEP for personalised guidance.

We asked our Healthy Connections members, “Why is good health important to you?”

Matthew, 52 years old, “It’s good for my mind and my body to exercise and I always feel better after seeing Lachlan (Exercise Physiologist) each week.”

John, 82 years old, “Good health is EVERYTHING to me. Without it, I wouldn’t be here with you lovely people and the community at Burnie Brae.”

Lance, 83 years old, “I enjoy coming in and talking to the boys. It keeps me alive and moving. If I didn’t come here, I’d disintegrate to nothing!”
