Do you want to be a Grand Friend? Join the Intergenerational Play Program at Chermside Early Learning Centre!

If you’ve ever wanted to create meaningful connections across generations, now’s your chance! Chermside Early Learning Centre is looking for Grand Friends to join their Intergenerational Play Program.

This wonderful initiative gives you the opportunity to share stories, songs and smiles with the little ones while creating lasting memories together.

As a Grand Friend, you'll have the chance to form special bonds with the children by being a part of their play, discover and growth. Whether you’re cuddling up with a nursery baby, guiding a toddler’s curiosity, or exploring the world of creative play with preschoolers, your presence will leave a lasting impact.

Here's a sneak peek at the different age groups you could work with:

• Nursery Grand Friend (0-15 months): Enjoy gentle interactions, cuddles and sensory play that help babies start to explore their world.
• Toddler Grand Friend (15 months - 2 years): Encourage those precious first words, big steps and the joy of early explorations.
• Pre-Kindergarten Grand Friend (2-3 years): Engage in creative play, tell stories and help build confidence in the early years.
• Junior Kindy Grand Friend (3-4 years): Foster curiosity, imagination and a love of learning through fun activities and play.

How to become a Grand Friend

It’s easy to get started! All you need is a volunteer blue card, which is free and simple to apply for.

You can apply via the online applicant portal or download a paper form.
